OUR LEGACY
Over 30 years ago, as the country stepped out of apartheid and into the promise of freedom, a powerful question emerged: how do we build a future where justice and
opportunity are a reality for all South Africans?
The answer became KwaCare — a movement rooted in compassion, serving the communities of Clermont and KwaDabeka with love and action. What began with
food parcels, healthcare, and practical support soon grew into something deeper — a bridge between people, cultures, and generations. We saw hearts change, racism confronted, and a new story begin — one of shared humanity.
Today, that legacy lives on through Hope Nation.
Hope Nation carries the same heartbeat — the same commitment to restore dignity, create opportunity, and transform lives. From early childhood education to accessible healthcare, we continue what KwaCare began: showing up where it matters, and loving people well.
For three decades, this work has continued — breaking cycles of poverty, confronting inequality, and walking with the most vulnerable.
This is more than the story of an organisation. This is a story of hope in action.
Celebrating 30 Years of Transformational Impact
Thirty years ago, we started as KwaCare, serving one community with a vision to bring hope.
Today, as Hope Nation, our reach extends across South Africa, and we’re just getting started!
This year, we celebrate a legacy of impact and invite YOU to be part of the journey ahead.
To mark this incredible milestone, we’ve planned a few key events throughout the year. Each one is an opportunity to reflect on the past, take meaningful action in the present, and partner with us to build a hopeful future.
Whether you’re a business, school, or individual passionate about making a difference, there’s a place for you in
this story.
